The Essence of Montessori
Montessori was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, in Italy, between 1897 - 1907. Montessori schools use multi-age classrooms, and children are grouped according to their developmental stages.
Montessori classrooms are prepared with natural, sensorial materials designed for each stage of development. Teachers act as guides, encouraging children to choose materials that encourage further exploration.
