That journey led me to California, Chicago, Sweden, and eventually Arlington, Virginia. During this time I worked as a Primary Montessori teacher, Montessori administrator, and Elementary Montessori teacher in both private and public schools.
After fifteen years of service in public schools and being fully vested in that experience, I felt that it was time for me to take a different path. My experiences and observations have led me to believe that the child's whole day can be one seamless Montessori experience.
I wished to create such a place where the adults and children spend their time together in a Montessori environment engaging in academic activities and the daily rituals of life supporting each other to be the best that they can be.
I wanted to make this Montessori experience accessible to all parents who want it for their children, and therefore all day and all year Montessori came about.

Metta is an all-day, all-year Montessori school. We recognize that caregivers have obligations outside the home that necessitate the need for extended hours.
We also recognize that young children need consistency in routines and care, in order to thrive. We understand the importance of caring, meaningful relationships in the lives of young children. With this in mind we strive to provide a seamless Montessori experience for the child throughout the day, supported by a professional, nurturing Montessori Guide.
We integrate the daily rituals of life with academic work providing opportunities for cooking, baking, gardening, or relaxing on a couch. Metta is a place where children and adults come together to live with each other during their time here.
It offers the child all the academic challenges of the Montessori curriculum and the advantages of a homelike environment.
